As Program and Community Coordinator for Kuwento Co. and The Kuwento Academy, Alma brings a lifelong passion for community, culture, and storytelling. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, program and community development, she has directed initiatives that empower individuals and strengthen intergenerational connections. Her work with organizations such as East Aldine Management District (event manager), Lone Star College (advisor, professor, outreach), and Baker Ripley (community and program development) reflects her dedication to creating spaces where people can learn, collaborate, and celebrate shared heritage.
Alma’s contributions have been recognized by the North East Newspaper for her leadership in the Ancestry Day, bringing the community together to celebrate heritage, share stories, gather information for research, and explore ways to preserve memories for future generations.
As President of the Hispanic Genealogical Society of Houston, Alma actively promotes the preservation of family stories—encouraging others to document photos, histories, and memories. She believes every story carries the power to honor ancestry, inspire others, and build bridges between cultures.
In her role at Kuwento Co., she supports program launches, community outreach, and partnership development, ensuring that the company’s mission to Publish, Educate, and Empower continues to uplift Filipino, and marginalized voices. Guided by her love of heritage and community, Alma is dedicated to helping storytellers of all backgrounds preserve their legacies and shape the next generation of voices.
