LEAVE-A-LEGACY OVERVIEW:
PART I: From Ideas to Kuwento (14 weeks)
- You will learn the foundations of a compelling kuwento and learn how others have written their kuwento
- Brainstorm and develop book outline chapters
- Learn how to write your kuwento and spend time crafting your stories
- Sharing your progress bi-monthly and gaining critical feedback during Kuwento Circles to help improve your writing
- Be motivated to keep writing and sharing
- At the end of the course, you will have accomplished writing your first draft of your kuwento
PART II: From Kuwento to Book Cover (5 weeks)
- Now that you have your stories written, it’s time to make the book cover and insert your photos
- Learn what makes up a beautiful, memorable book cover
- You will design your ideal, dream book cover in collaboration with Kuwento Co.
- Select your final book cover design
- Learn how to scan, insert, and caption your photos and images
- Select your headshot and craft your bio for you book cover
- At the end of the course, you will have your dream book cover and memorable photos in your book. You are now one step away from publishing your story into the actual hardcopy book.
PART III: From Draft to Published Book (10 weeks)
- You will bring your first rough draft and share the document with another Kuwento Co. Writer
- You will learn how to give and gain critical feedback to help improve your kuwento
- Kuwento
- You will learn how to polish your kuwento with the top editing checklist
- Kuwento Co. will do a final edit, proofread, layout and format your stories so you don’t have to worry
- Kuwento Co. will take your book order, print, ship, and deliver your book to your door
- At the end of the course, you will have the hardcopy book of your kuwento in your hands, ready to be honored at the Kuwento Co. Live Event–The New Author Celebration
REQUIREMENTS
- Must 18 years and older
- Bring a pen for writing
- A device (laptop, computer, Ipad) to view Zoom, type on, and be able to share your screen during the session
- Attend all live sessions on time. Workshop will begin exactly on time. The Zoom room will be open 10-15 minutes before the workshop for people to arrive in and settle down.
