ABOUT DR. PINKY
An author, educator, and publisher, Dr. Pat Lindsay “Pinky” Catalla-Buscaino has dedicated over two decades to higher education, community organizing, and storytelling. She is the Founder and CEO of Kuwento Co., a publishing company committed to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, particularly Filipino, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), and LGBTQIA+ narratives.
Dr. Pinky has co-authored works in academic books such as Culturally Relevant Storytelling in Qualitative Research and The SAGE Encyclopedia of Filipina/x/o American Studies, further solidifying her role as a thought leader in preserving cultural histories through storytelling. As the publisher of The Kuwento Book: An Anthology of Filipino Stories + Poems and With Love: What We Wish We Knew About Being Queer and Filipino in America by Dr. Dustin E. Domingo, she continues to provide a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard, honored, and remembered.
An Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) member, Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers Association (MPIBA) Active Industry Member, and Emerita President of the Filipino American National Historical Society - Houston, Texas Chapter (FANHS-HTX), Dr. Pinky is passionate about empowering communities through the written word. Her work champions storytelling as a tool for cultural preservation, identity, and collective empowerment.
